Wow -- getting lots of comments on this post already. Almost all have said that they think the reason men oftentimes do not assist women is because women have caused the problem themselves by being offended by acts of male chivalry and kindness. Of course, but it's even worse than that. Women and 'women's lib" has resulted in the feminization of the male and women beating the manliness out of their men, turning them into wusses so that they can dominate and control them. It's like tenderizing meat. Men have been raked over the coals for treating women with respect because it was turned into men "treating us as inferior." New readers may not be aware, but I have a lot'o stuff on this topic in my archives.

Men, don't worry, you are valued here, and your assistance, respect, and opening of doors will always be welcome by me....and yes, many other woman also appreciate men being men. Yea, I'm a little toughie, as one reader wrote, but still, I like men to be men. No woman can experience too much chivalry from the good men out there who have refused to be overrun by the feminization tactics of all those grads from women's studies programs ....
