Alan Greenspan with a comment on the work of Adam Smith that is so overly dramatic that it's downright appalling:
"More than two centuries of economic thought have added little to those insights," he added. Smith's ideas had become "the sole remaining effective paradigm for economic organization."
Therefore, there exists no worthy economic thought for the last two-and-a-quarter centuries.
