The latest J.D. Power and Associates survey of long-term vehicle dependability is out, and surprise, General Motors is near the top of the quality list. Detroit is salivating over this news, as the Big Three are no longer perennial problem children. Mercedes, as usual, got disastrous results in the survey. The other big losers are the other "usuals," Volkswagon and Land Rover, both of which are status cars without a quality leg to stand on.
