Sometimes you blog things without thinking first. You say the worst, most horrific things, and regret them later. Yes, I am guilty of that recently. I attacked a like-minded blogger, a fellow of my own ideological mindset. A Misesian. A Rothbardian. I was vicious, mean, nasty, and biting. I called him the horrific "F" word. It was awful and mean-spirited. I called him a.................
....a Friends watcher. Ugly, ugly stuff.
Huebert informs me that, no, he is not a Friends watcher, but only a sports hater. To be confused with being a Friend of Friends is akin to being considered to be a Foucaultian Pyschopathologist. I sincerely apologize for such a rancorous remark.
But I digess on sports......I disagree that professional team sports are worthless or uninteresting. The ancient Greeks took seriously the integration of mind and body, intellectual and athlete, for that was the human ideal. Athleticism and physical energy begets mental energy. The athlete is a human wonder. I love sports, and more than just tennis, as another libertarian chides in on this. (By the way, tennis is the only sport where the women are far better to watch than the men. The volleying and net play is much better, and the woman's game is more competitive and spirited.)
