Newsflash: Wal-Mart is the "Economic Holocaust"

These people in Arizona are totally sick.

When it comes to Wal-Mart, Arizona grocery icon Eddie Basha doesn't mince words.

"I call it the economic holocaust," Basha, chief executive of Bashas', the state's largest homegrown supermarket chain, said in an interview with The Arizona Republic. "It's no different than what the Nazis did in World War II. It's a blitzkrieg. They are doing economically what the Nazis did militaristically."

This guy calls Fry's and Safeway "legitimate competitors," and he means that Wal-Mart is an illegitimate competitor because it's too large, efficient, and well-run, and therefore it's akin to Hitlerian fascism. ?? The comparison reeks of insanity. (Thanks to my Dad - a pro-Wal-Mart Arizonian - for sending this piece along. Dad, take Mom out to her 2nd-favorite store [after Costco], and buy some of those great, cheap Chinese-made products.)
