The Farah Reformation

Martin Luther step aside. The Dispensationalists are here to rule. WorldNetdaily's Joe Farah is leading the Farah Reformation to deter all evil from the face of this nation, starting with Hollywood.

Shrubblogger Justin Stoddard has this one covered, so yours truly will pass on any further deep analysis. First, Justin gets Farah on Reformation, Part I, wherein Farah progressed from his Old Testament Tyranny in regards to the Clara Harris case, to his recent column on bringing back the blacklists. To quote Justin quoting Farah (I can't resist dropping this quote in here): "There was a time, not long ago, in this country when the church played a powerful role in influencing the entertainment industry. From 1933 until the late 1960s, every major Hollywood studio submitted its scripts for approval to the Protestant Film Office and the Roman Catholic Church's Legion of Decency. When the churches abandoned Hollywood (not the other way around, by the way), the negative result was both predictable and dramatic." Here's the Farah column that is criticized.

Yes, that's what we want and need: Church approval of movie scripts. An endless spree of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Mary Poppins. Though, understand, I do not criticize the old, warm family movies; I like them alot. I just detest censorship in any form except at the individual-family level. I believe there is something for everyone, from Mary Poppins to porn.

Here is Justin's second criticism of Joe Farah on Reformation, Part II. Farah's second screed on blacklisting is here.

Farah, like all neocons (though Farah is far more influenced by wacky dispensationalism than down-the-pipe neocon worldviews) simply has no tolerance for dissent of any kind. People like him (and David Horowitz) are tyrants.

Ok, I agree with Stephan Kinsella on this one; statism really did begin with the Protestant Deformation....
